YPN members meet in Portugal!

The Infrasound Technology Workshop (ITW) took place at the Hotel Marina Atlantico, Ponta Delgada, on São Miguel Island, Azores, Portugal, between 30 January to 3 February 2023.

During one of the coffee breaks at the Workshop, a few of the many Young Professionals attending the workshop gathered for a photo in the sun. Several YPN members gave  talks and actively contributed to the interesting scientific discussions taking place.

The presentations  coveried a vast range of topics from influence of infrasound measurements from windmills, ground truth experimental campaigns, use of IMS-infrasound bulletins for scientific applications, how turbulent kinetic energy relates to wind noise on microbarometers and aspects of infrasound analysis at the IDC.

The ITW was co-organized by the Government of Portugal, the Government of the Azores Autonomous Region, the University of the Azores - Research Institute for Volcanology and Risk Assessment and by the Provisional Technical Secretariat (PTS).

The purpose of this ITW was to create an international forum for presenting and discussing recent advancements in infrasound research and operational capabilities of global and regional networks.

It is great to see young professionals meet from all around the world!
